The Medical Examiner’s office has identified the 62-year-old Alaska man who died Tuesday after crashing a truck into a coconut tree on the Ko Olina offramp as John Klein of Anchorage.

The cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries caused by the accident.

Police said the victim may have fallen asleep or had a medical condition.

Klein was heading to Waianae with a truck full of cement tile when it drifted from the center lane to the right shoulder where he hit a tree.

Driver was dead when paramedics arrived at the H-1 freeway offramp to the Ko Olina resort.
