Hawaii County police arrest man in fatal stabbing

Hawaii County police arrested a 34-year-old man Tuesday after a 32-year-old man was stabbed multiple times and died in Puna.

Officers responded at 3:20 p.m. today at Pilo Street in the Eden Roc subdivision and found the victim unresponsive with multiple stab wounds.

Fire officials said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police arrested the older man on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder, taken to the Hilo police cell block, but was later taken to the Hilo Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
