Hawaiian Air passenger traffic up 1.5% in October

Hawaiian Airlines’ passenger traffic edged up 1.5 percent in October as the state’s largest carrier offered more flights.

The airline said today it transported 822,281 people compared with 810,201 in the year-earlier period. Hawaiian’s load factor, or the percentage of seats filled, slipped 0.4 percentage points to 82.9 percent from 83.3 percent.

Revenue passenger miles, or one paying passenger transported one mile, rose 4.7 percent to 1.17 million from 1.12 million while available seat miles, or one seat transported one mile, increased 5.3 percent to 1.41 million from 1.34 million.
