Police return prisoner to OCCC after prolonged furlough

Honolulu police located an escaped inmate and returned him to the Oahu Community Correctional Center this morning.

Jarret Derego failed to return to the facility after a furlough on Nov. 4.

Derego was serving time for violating an order of protection and unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.

According to the Department of Public Safety, Derego will face an second-degree escape charge.
