This story has been corrected. See below.

Speed was a factor in a crash that killed three people, including a toddler, and seriously injured five other people on Farrington Highway near the Kahe Point power plant Saturday night, police said.

The crash involved a 2010 Honda sedan carrying four people, which collided with a 2007 Nissan pickup truck at about 8:30 p.m., police said.

The passengers in the Honda, an 18-year-old woman, a one-year-old girl, and a man in his 30s, died at the scene, police and paramedics said.

Police said the driver of the Honda went to the hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 42-year-old woman ,and her passengers, a 49-year-old woman and two girls, ages 14 and 3, were taken to the hospital in serious condition, police said.

Police said they are still investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Correction: The driver of the Honda involved in Saturday’s crash went to the hospital in critical condition and another male passenger in the car died at the scene. An earlier version of this story said the driver was killed.
