A former Kamehameha Schools speech teacher and debate coach pleaded not guilty this morning to allegedly recording video of students showering at his faculty housing apartment in 2012 and 2013.
Gabriel Alisna’s trial was set for the week of March 3 by Circuit Judge Richard Perkins.
Alisna was indicted Dec. 18 by an Oahu grand jury on five counts of violation of privacy and two counts of misdemeanor sexual assault.
Alisna, now a Washington state resident, is free on $75,000 bond.
Alisna is accused of recording students at his apartment where they were staying overnight to prepare for debate tournaments.
He videotaped the students without their knowledge or consent, according to the prosecution.
Alisna’s lawyer Keith Shigetomi said his only comment is what he said in court that his client is not guilty.
“We’ll fight it in court,” he said.
