Spearman named Big West player of week

Hawaii guard Brandon Spearman has been named Big West player of the week after making the all-tournament team at the Diamond Head Classic.

Conference officials announced the selection today.

Spearman averaged 14.3 points per game and 6 rebounds per game in three games at the tournament, helping Hawaii to wins over St. Mary’s and Oregon State. He had 12 points and 10 rebounds against Oregon State for his first career double-double.

The Rainbow Warriors (9-3) have won seven of their last eight games.
