Wilder Avenue reopened following fatal traffic accident

Honolulu police reopened Wilder Avenue from Makiki Street to Anapuni Street following a fatal pedestrian accident.

The accident at Makiki and Wilder happened at about 12:42 p.m. and police reopened the area by about 5 p.m.

Police said a 68-year-old woman was crossing Wilder Ave. when she was struck by a sports utiltiy vehicle making a left turn onto Wilder at about 12:41 p.m.

The victim was taken to Queen’s Medical Center, where she died.
