NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. >> Florida State’s Jimbo Fisher and Auburn’s Gus Malzahn have held their final news conferences leading up to the last BCS championship game.

The coaches shook hands and posed for pictures with the crystal football trophy that goes to the winner of Monday night’s game at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.

The last BCS championship game features a top-ranked Florida State (13-0) team that has stomped through its season, winning each game by at least 14 points behind Heisman winner Jameis Winston.

Fisher says: “I still think our best game’s out there.”

No. 2 Auburn is the most unlikely team to ever play for the BCS title. The turnaround Tigers went from 3-9 last season to 12-1 in their first season under Malzahn, riding two miraculous late-season wins.
