Kauai Fire rescue boat, helicopter help injured hiker

Kauai firefighters rescued a 44-year-old hiker who injured her ankle near Uluwehi Falls in Wailua Monday morning.

The Fire Department’s rescue boat was used to bring firefighters up the Wailua River to the trailhead, where firefighters hiked up the trail to the victim, a woman from Nevada.

The Fire Department helicopter airlifted her to Wailua Homesteads Park, where medics took her to Wilcox Hospital.
