Kauai police said a woman who once tried to pass herself off as the half-sister of a supermodel is in custody for felony credit card fraud.

Police describe Stome Aerison, 49, of Colorado Springs, as a "repeat credit card thief."

Police arrested Aerison when she allegedly tried to check out of the Kauai Marriott Resort with a stolen credit card. Officers recovered other stolen credit cards from her belongings, police said.

Prosecutors charged Aerison with both felony and misdemeanor counts of credit card theft and identity theft.

She is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Police said Aerison was born Charles J. Daugherty, but legally changed her name to Storme Shannon Aerison.

Police said she has used several alias, including James Daugherty, Shannon Daugherty and Teri Anderson.

Police said Aerison has also used the name Kimber Ireland in an attempt to pass herself off as the half-sister of former supermodel Kathy Ireland.

"I am pleased that our officers were able to detain this individual before she could continue her history of criminal activity here on Kauai," said Assistant Chief of the Patrol Services Bureau Ale Quibilan.
