Man dies after moped strikes pickup truck in Aiea

A 66-year-old man died Thursday after the moped he was driving struck a pickup truck in Aiea.

The man was driving east on Moanalua Road near Ualo Street when his moped crossed the centerline and struck the truck about 2:45 p.m. Thursday, Honolulu police said.

He was taken in critical condition to Queen’s Medical Center, where he later died, police said.

The fatality was the fourth traffic-related death this year compared to five for the same period last year.
