Kauai firefighters rescued a Lawai man Saturday morning after he fell on the rocks at Camp One Bay in Hanapepe and spent Friday night there, unable to get up, Kauai officials said.

A fisherman found the 26-year-old man lying on the rocks about 7:40 a.m. and called for help. The man told the fisherman that he fell onto the rocks from the parking lot above and couldn’t get up because of his injuries, officials said.

Firefighters took the man by helicopter to paramedics at Burns Field. The man was taken to Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
