The Honolulu Police Commission announced today that it has reappointed Honolulu Police Department Chief Louis Kealoha to a second five-year term as top cop, according to a news release.

Over the past two years, the commission rated Kealoha’s performance as "Exceeds Expectations," according to the release issued by the commission.

Kealoha’s current term ends Nov. 27, 2014. The commission took action on the early reappointment at a meeting held Wednesday. The move allows Kealoha to continue serving as chief until November 2019.
