There’s an app to help you find your Hawaii state representative or senator.

The state Office of Information Management and Technology said Wedneasday the state created two new smartphone apps to help the public identify their lawmakers.

Both apps open to maps showing districts across the islands. Users may click on their district to find the lawmaker representing their area.

The idea for the apps came from a workshop at the Hawaii Digital Government Summit in November. Members of the public said then they were interested in an app that would help them find their representatives at the state Capitol.

The state Office of Planning and vendor Esri developed the applications.

The app for the Senate is at: http://maps.hawaii.gov/HIStateSenate/

The app for the House is at: http://maps.hawaii.gov/HIStateHouse/
