CTY FLASH MOB - 29 MARCH 2013 - Spring break revelers partied off shore from Kaimana Beach in Waikiki on Friday afternoon. Approximately 150 people showed up to the social media "flash mob" to form a flotilla of intertubes and other inflatables. Two Hawaii destinations have made their first-ever appearances on the Top 10 spring break list released by Travelocity.com
The travel site ranks Maui at No. 9 and Honolulu at No. 10 on its annual list of destination choices.
Topping the Travelocity list for the third year is the South Florida area, at No. 2 is the Orlando area, with the Phoenix area at No. 3.
The rest of the top 10 are Fort Myers, Fla., No. 5, Las Vegas, Cancun, Mexico, the Los Angeles area, and at No. 8, the combined Tampa-St. Petersburg area of Florida.
Travelocity reports a 14.7 percent increase in domestic airfare year-over-year, while international airfare for spring break is essentially flat, at a .1 percent decrease.
