Top hybrid vehicles under $30k ranked

The 2013 Toyota Prius is shown above. Toyota Motor Corp. said Wednesday that 997,000 Prius cars in Japan, some 713,000 in North America, another 130,000 in Europe and the rest in other regions are being recalled for a problem in the software to control the hybrid system.
The Toyota Prius tops the Kelley Blue Book list of the 10 best 2014 hybrid vehicles under $30,000.
Taking second-place was the Honda Accord Hybrid, while No. 3 is the Toyota Camry. The Toyota Prius V is at No. 4, and Ford Fusion is the fifth-ranked hybrid for below $30,000.
The Acura ILX is at No. 6, the Ford C-Max Hybrid ranks 7th, the Toyota Prius c is at No. 8, while the 9th- and 10th-ranked vehicles are the Volkswagen Jetta and the Subaru XV Crosstrek, respectively.
“The goal of the list is to help consumers who might be new to hybrid vehicles get a head-start in identifying a vehicle that will fulfill their needs,” said Jack R. Nerad, KBB executive editorial director, in a statement.
