Off-duty police officer helps catch purse-snatching suspect
An off-duty police officer helped arrest a purse snatching suspect at the Kapolei Shopping Center Monday.
Police said a 34-year-old woman saw the suspect taking her handbag from a shopping cart around 3:45 p.m. The woman called police and chased the 49-year-old theft suspect.
An off-duty police officer saw the woman chasing the suspect and also called police dispatch.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of second-degree theft and unauthorized possession of personal information.
