Assistant professor Danny Aiu watched over his students yesterday as they worked in the sheet metal workshop at Honolulu Community College. Aiu said many of his classes are full of students preparing for a rebound in the trades industries. Almost all of Aiu's courses have full enrollment.

Honolulu Community College has been taken off warning accreditation status by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, which reaffirmed the college’s accreditation, school officials said Tuesday in a news release.

HCC Chancellor Erika Lacro said in a statement that the entire college community was involved in addressing accreditation recommendations.

"We have made great progress and will continue those efforts around continuous improvement and improving student success around degree and certificate attainment," she said.
