Hanauma Bay lifeguards rescue unresponsive snorkeler


Lifeguards at Hanauma Bay Friday afternoon rescued an unresponsive snorkeler about 200 yards offshore, according to Emergency Medical Services.

The lifeguards brought the snorkeler — a woman in her 60s — to shore for treatment. According an EMS report, the woman was unresponsive but still breathing. 

Shortly after 1 p.m., paramedics transported the woman to a hospital in critical condition.
