A female snorkeler in her 80s died Wednesday after being transported to a hospital.
Lifeguards rescued the woman about 40 yards offshore at Hanauma Bay on Wednesday morning, according to an Emergency Medical Services report.
At about 10:20 a.m., lifeguards administered CPR and other aid. Paramedics responding to the scene took over treatment and transported the woman in critical condition to the hospital, where she later died, authorities said.
