Brook Sedore put down a match-high 25 kills and No. 10 Hawaii outblocked No. 6 Stanford 12-7 but it was not enough as the Cardinal defeated the Rainbow Warriors for a second straight night in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation volleyball play in Stanford, Calif.

Brian Cook had 21 kills and Stanford scored the match’s last five points in a 25-23, 25-13, 17-25, 21-25, 15-7 victory at Maples Pavilion. Steve Irvin added 19 kills and served for the final points for the Cardinal (14-7, 11-7 MPSF), who won their fifth straight.

Hawaii (11-10, 9-9), losing its fourth in a row, got 12 kills from Siki Zarkovic. Taylor Averill hit .700 but only took 10 swings, putting down seven kills with no errors.

The Rainbow Warriors continue their road trip at Pacific with matches Monday and Tuesday. It is the final season for men’s volleyball at UOP.
