A 76-year-old man allegedly choked a 79-year-old woman during an argument Saturday evening in the downtown area, Honolulu police said.
Police said a verbal argument between the man and woman escalated to physical violence around 5 p.m. when the man restricted the woman’s breathing.
The man was arrested about 45 minutes later at his home on Aala street on suspicion of abuse of a family member, third-degree assault and second-degree terroristic threatening, according to police records.
