Radar showed heavy rain over northeast Oahu Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service canceled a flood advisory for Windward Oahu after heavy rain over the Koolau mountains from Laie to Maunawili eased.

At about 6 a.m. Thursday, rain gauge in Ahuimanu reported rain falling at a rate of more than 2 inches per hour, forecasters said.

Stream gauges also reported elevated water levels.

Forecasters say more windward and mauka showers are possible this morning.

Leeward areas could get some brief afternoon showers.

Trade winds are expected to diminish slightly Thursday, but will become breezy and gusty this weekend.

A storm system may move over the islands on Saturday, bringing an increased chance of rain and possible thunderstorms.
