When Ted Gonzales opened Pacific Diamond and Swiss Watch Exchange in 1996, he knew exactly what Hawaii needed — a family jeweler people can trust for quality diamonds at the best service and the best prices.

The locally owned, family-oriented store offers diamonds in all shapes and sizes to fit every budget. There also is a gemologist on staff to help you find that perfect piece, and gem cutting services on-site.

“We specialize in loose diamonds,” said Gonzales. “We have an office that we ship directly from in Israel. There’s no middle man. We are a true direct-diamond importer.”

The store, located at 1356 Kapiolani Blvd. (across from Ala Moana Center), also carries reconditioned fine Swiss watches, such as Rolex, Tag Heuer and Cartier. They also offer jewelry and watch repairs, and take trade-ins.

As for current trends, Gonzales said, "white gold and platinum are still popular. As far as style, it’s the halo setting with small diamonds that surround a large diamond, and we carry a full line of them,” he added.

“We’re also getting a lot of new inventory for the spring season. Typically that’s when a lot of brides are getting engaged, and if they are getting married this time of year, then we also celebrate a lot of anniversaries.”

Loyalty and dedication — they’re the values Pacific Diamond and Swiss Watch Exchange were founded upon and maintain its priority. Just as you would hope for in every relationship.
