Man arrested in stabbings of 2 Kailua-Kona men

One man was arrested and two others hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries following apparent stabbings in Kailua-Kona on Thursday evening.

Police were called to Alii Drive and Kahakai Road, across from the Coconut Grove Shopping Complex, about 10:10 p.m. and found two Kailua-Kona men, one 43 and the other 38, both with lacerations to their abdomens. Both were initially treated  by fire rescue personnel and transported to the Kona Community Hospital.

Police arrested a 43-year-old Kailua-Kona man on suspicion of two counts of second-degree assault.

The investigation into the incident is continuing and police are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Scott Kurashige at 326-4646 ext. 304 or skurashige@co.hawaii.hi.us. Tipsters may also anonymously call CrimeStoppers at 961-8300.
