The accident occurred just after 2 p.m. when the victim was trying to turn onto Kamehameha Highway from Kuilima Drive and collided head on with a 2007 white delivery truck.

The Medical Examiner’s office identified the 24-year-old woman who was killed in a moped collision in front of Turtle Bay Resort on Sunday as Kelli Allen from Basalt, Colo.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine cause of death.

The accident occurred just after 2 p.m. when the victim was trying to turn onto Kamehameha Highway from Kuilima Drive and collided with a 2007 white delivery truck.

Police said the victim was making a wide turn on her 2013 white moped when she hit the truck and was thrown to the pavement.

She was taken in critical condition to the Pali Momi Medical Center where she later died.

The driver of the truck, a 26-year-old man, and his passenger, a 47-year-old man, were not injured.

This was Oahu’s 20th traffic fatality, compared to 22 at the same time a year ago, according to the Honolulu Police Department.
