Honolulu Board of Water Supply workers finished repairs to a 12-inch water main in Waipahu Tuesday night.

Waipahu Street remained closed in both directions between Malakeke Street and Waipahu Depot Road so crews could fill in the trench and repair the road.

The agency said the road repairs were expected to be finished about midnight Tuesday.

The break happened at about 4:30 a.m.

The main was originally installed in 1927, the BWS said.
