Kapolei man is charged in shooting
An Oahu grand jury returned an indictment Thursday charging a 24-year-old man with second-degree attempted murder in connection with a shooting last month in Kapolei.
Matthew K. Chung of Kapolei also was charged with two firearm-related charges.
The indictment identified the victim as Shylo Quemado-Moniz, 23, who was shot in the chest and arms at about 4 p.m. April 26. Police said a friend took Quemado-Moniz to the hospital in serious condition.
Police seek gunman in gas station robbery
Honolulu police are looking for a masked gunman who apparently robbed a Chevron station in Kapahulu twice.
Police released security camera video of the suspect entering the service station’s convenience store at 9:05 p.m. Saturday and pulling out a handgun from a red bag.
On April 22 at the same store, a masked suspect, also dressed in black and wearing a baseball cap with a yellow rim, was captured on another security camera video pulling a handgun out of a red bag at 10:08 p.m.
