Honolulu Police suspect the robberies of an American Savings Bank in the Salt Lake Shopping Center on May 13 and the Wahiawa branch of Central Pacific Bank on May 1 are connected.

Police released a sketch of the suspect in the Central Pacific Bank branch on California Ave. in hopes of identifying the man.

In a CrimeStoppers news release, police said the same man may be one of two people involved in the Salt Lake robbery, which led to the lockdown of two nearby schools — Aliamanu Elementary and Aliamanu Middle schools.

In the May 1 Wahiawa case, a man entered the bank at 10:05 a.m., approached a teller, brandished a handgun and demanded money.

In the May 13 case, two masked men entered the American Savings Bank branch at 848 Ala Lilikoi St. at 10:29 a.m. Tuesday.

One of the suspects brandished a shotgun while the other brandished a handgun, according to CrimeStoppers. Police said the men demanded money from a teller and fled on foot.

The suspect in sketch is believed to be in his 20s, around 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. He was wearing a grey hoodie, brown jacket, brown long pants, black backpack, and a black ski mask when he robbed the Wahiawa bank.
