Man allegedly assaults police officer on Punchbowl Street

A 59-year-old man was arrested early Saturday morning after he allegedly assaulted two police officers.

According to police, the officers were responding to a services complaint at Punchbowl Street near Miller Street when they were assaulted by a man who does not have a local address.

He was arrested on suspicion of assault on a law enforcement officer. His bail was set at $50,000.

The incident was the third time in the last four days that a police officer has allegedly been assaulted while on duty.

On Wednesday, a male officer investigating a complaint in Kalihi was injured when he was kicked by a 24-year-old Kalihi man.

On Thursday, a 54-year-old Waimanalo woman allegedly assaulted an on-duty police officer in Waimanalo.
