Search suspended for camper reported missing on Maui
A 44-year-old camper was reported missing at about 3 p.m. Friday in an area known as Plenty Kiawe off of Piilani Highway’s mile post 31 on Maui.
Authorities said rescuers from Kula were dispatched to look for the man after he was discovered missing by others in his camping party.
An air and land search was conducted but rescue personnel were not able to find the man. The search was suspended pending more information as the Maui Police Department investigates.
