Rocks on road damage vehicles on Hawaii island


Football-size rocks on the roadway damaged vehicles early Thursday morning in Hilo, Hawaii County police said.

Three of the accidents were on Hawaii Belt Highway (Route 19) near ?Alae Cemetery and one was on Haihai Street.

Police are asking motorists to use caution when driving during the early morning hours especially with limited visibility due to rain.

The public is asked to report any suspicious activity by calling the Police Department’s nonemergency line at 935-3311.
