Hundreds welcome new library to Aiea

The girls accompanied their mom, Kelsy Hernandez-Saca, to check out the new location, which attracted hundreds of people as well as state officials when it finally opened Saturday.

    Aiea Community Association President Claire Tamamoto and Aiea Public Library Manager Baron Baroza joined hundreds of people Saturday at the grand opening of the facility’s new location at the former Aiea Sugar Mill site.

    Above, the $10.4 million location is nearly 7,000 square feet larger than its former site and sports environmentally friendly design elements and free Wi-Fi.
