Kailua and Hawaii alumnus Samson Satele missed eight games in two seasons with the Colts.

MIAMI >> Former University of Hawaii Center Samson Satele has signed with the Miami Dolphins, where he was a starter in his first two NFL seasons in 2007-08.

Satele, who was also an all-star at Kailua High School, played for the Oakland Raiders in 2009-11, and for the Indianapolis Colts in 2012-13. He has started 98 games in his career.

The Dolphins have tried three centers with the first team in training camp as they seek someone to fill in for Pro Bowl center Mike Pouncey, who is expected to miss at least the first couple of games recovering from hip surgery.

To make room for Satele on the roster, the Dolphins waived guard Samuel Longo on Saturday.
