1-year plan would limit stand-up paddleboards

    Mami Hiyane of Tokyo rode a paddleboard at Ala Moana Beach Park on Tuesday. The state Department of Land and Natural Resources will host a public forum Wednesday on a proposed one-year pilot project in which stand-up paddleboarders would be banned during certain hours from designated surf breaks along Oahu’s South Shore.
