A 21-year-old man was arrested Saturday after he tried to rob a man in Kakaako, police said.

The suspect, who did not give police a local address, was booked at 11:15 p.m. Saturday for investigation of first-degree robbery.

Police said the man demanded money from the victim, then displayed a dangerous instrument and demanded money again. The victim was able to stall the suspect and notify security, who called police.

Responding officers arrested the man at the intersection of Pohukaina and South streets near Restaurant Row.
