Man, 28, in critical condition after near-drowning in Waikiki

A 28-year-old man was in critical condition on Friday following a near-drowning incident in Waikiki.

The incident occurred at about 4:30 p.m. in waters fronting 2403 Kalakaua Ave.

Paramedics transported the man to an area hospital.

    Tourist don’t understand that Hawaii’s waters are calm at the top, but a strong swift, moving current called a under toe, lurks beneath them.

    Star-Advertiser, you know full well that giving a street address there doesn’t mean anything to anyone local. You could just say “Kuhio Beach by the police station”, which is where google maps says that address is located.
