LAS VEGAS >> The Lucky Dragon hotel-casino is on track to open later this year on the Las Vegas Strip as backers of the project say it’s now fully financed.

Progress on the Asian-themed casino had stalled last year when the city declined to give it tax increment financing, allowing it to use additional property tax revenues that it would generate. But a statement from the resort released Thursday says it has received the necessary funds to complete the project by late 2016.

The Lucky Dragon is looking to provide an authentic Asian cultural and gaming experience.

The casino will feature table games popular in Asia, such as baccarat and pai gow, and the resort will have signage in Chinese first and English second.

Plans also include 200 hotel rooms and a spa.
