Previous coverage
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning tonight for West Maui until 10:15 p.m.
At 8:53 p.m. officials said flash flooding continued along the Wailuku River and at least two homes had water inside. The stream levels from earlier this evening have fallen from their peak levels and water is no longer covering Iao Valley Road.
The flooding was likely caused by heavy rain over the past couple of days that has been trapped at higher elevations and is now making its way downstream.
