Sven Koenig recorded a hat trick and Christian Porras had three assists as the Hawaii Pacific men’s soccer team routed Holy Names 6-0 on Thursday in Hayward, Calif.
Koenig, who also had an assist, scored at 5:23, 8:00 and 21:49 for the Sharks, who did all of their scoring in the first half.
Josch Cuerten (13:07), Erik Kemsies (33:17) and Divin Fula Luzolo (41:12) also scored for HPU.
The Sharks improved to 1-2-2 and 1-0-0 in Pacific West Conference play, while the Hawks dropped to 0-3-1, 0-1-0.

Hasegawa leads HPU women to victory
Kai Hasegawa scored twice, including the game-winner at 98:22, as the Hawaii Pacific women’s soccer team beat Holy Names 2-1 in overtime Thursday in Hayward, Calif.
Hasegawa, who also scored at 55:35, netted the winning goal on a breakaway.
Alannah John made 11 saves for the Sharks, who improved to 1-4-1, 1-0-0 PacWest. The Hawks dropped to 0-3-1, 0-1-0.

Uekawa, Yoshitsugu share golf honor
Chaminade’s Mark Uekawa and Hawaii Pacific’s Makoto Yoshitsugu have been named the Pacific West Conference Men’s Co-Golfers of the Week, the conference announced Thursday.
Uekawa, of Kailua, and Yoshitsugu, of Aichi, Japan, shared medalist honors after firing 2-over-par 74s at a dual meet that ended Friday at Pearl Country Club.
