Another hurricane has formed in the East Pacific.
Seymour, the 20th tropical depression of the season, formed Sunday and rapidly intensified overnight to become a category 2 hurricane today with sustained winds of 105 mph, about 540 miles south-southwest of Baja California, Mexico at 5 p.m.
The storm is expected to become a major hurricane tonight or Tuesday, before it weakens.
It is traveling west at 16 mph and is expected to remain offshore of Mexico for the next few days.
At this point, the storm is not a threat to land. It’s remnants could bring rain to Southern California this weekend.
