Adventure park fills old Kalaeloa coral quarry

    Melanie Luther stands on the bridge of the Adventure Tower at Coral Crater Adventure Park, an attraction that spreads out over 35 acres with a zip line, climbing wall, giant swing, electric mountain bikes, ATVs and dune buggies, which is opening in Kalaeloa on Dec. 3.

Not much has been happening in a roughly 50-foot-deep crater spanning 10 acres in Kalaeloa since the Navy created the hole around 70 years ago, mining coral limestone for building runways at Barbers Point Naval Air Station. Read more
