Police: Man impersonating officer flashes gun in Kaimuki

Police arrested a 27-year-old Aiea man for allegedly impersonating a law enforcement officer in Kaimuki.

At about 3:14 a.m. Tuesday, police said the suspect identified himself as a police officer to a 22-year-old woman and displayed a firearm.

During a traffic stop near Puu O Kaimuki Mini Park, police observed the firearm inside the suspect’s vehicle within reach of a 30-year-old Kalihi woman.

Police arrested the 30-year-old woman on suspicion of place to keep a pistol. The 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of impersonating a law enforcement officer in the first-degree and first-degree terroristic threatening.

Police are continuing their investigation.
