The suspect in a shooting Wednesday at an illegal gambling den in McCully is scheduled to appear in court today on felony charges.

Nathaniel Foster, 26, is being held on $1 million bail after he was charged Sunday with with second-degree murder, weapons violations and three contempt of court citations, police said.

A Honolulu Police Department SWAT team arrested Nathaniel Foster at 1260 Richard Lane in Kalihi without incident on Saturday after a three-day manhunt.

He is accused of shooting a 24-year-old man at a Poha Lane gambling parlor around 9 p.m. Wednesday. Police found the victim dead on the second floor with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen.

A cousin identified the victim as Kioco Melson and said Melson and the suspect worked together at the gambling parlor.

I have called for peace and court decisions to decide the complicated issue. And, it is not a Mandan issue directly. I pray for peace while teaching in a Hawaiin-serving institution and working part-time on pizza in Waikiki. Not a bad life.
