    Kahu Kordell Kekoa blessed the entrance of the operations building at the foot of the restored aerological tower during a dedication of the tower at Ford Island on Sunday. The two-story tower became the eye of the storm during the Pearl Harbor attack.

    Celine Carr, 13, sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the dedication for the newly restored Ford Island aerological tower on Sunday. The ceremony was held indoors in the Pacific Aviation Museum’s theater due to rain.

World War II veterans and Navy brass gathered Sunday to celebrate the restoration of a weather forecasting center on Ford Island that was used as a flight control tower during the Dec. 7, 1941, attack. Read more
