2 men face domestic assault charges in separate cases

Two men — one in Kaneohe and the other in Waianae — were arrested Wednesday for allegedly assaulting family members, in separate cases, in the presence of children under the age of 14.

The first incident occurred at 3:30 p.m. in Kaneohe when a 21-year-old man allegedly hit a 67-year-old female relative in their home in front of a child.

The woman’s property also was damaged during the argument, police said.

The man was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault on a family member.

About two hours later in Waianae, a 32-year-old man got into an argument with the 30-year-old mother of their child, who is also under the age of 14, police said.

The man allegedly threatened and assaulted the woman and restricted her breathing between 5:20 and 5:30 p.m., police said.

He was arrested for investigation of assault on a family member and terroristic threatening in the second degree and was in custody Wednesday night, police said.
