Missing hikers airlifted from Wahiawa trail
Honolulu firefighters located three missing hikers today after they were reported overdue from their hike at Wahiawa Loop Trail.
At approximately 9 p.m. Monday, firefighters responded to a report of lost hikers in their 30s — two men and one woman — after they were reported overdue from their hike, which they started at noon that day, according to Honolulu Fire Capt. Kevin Mokulehua in a news release.
The fire department’s Air 1 helicopter and firefighters conducted an air and ground search before suspending their operation at 11:45 p.m.
Firefighters resumed their search at dawn today when crews aboard the helicopter spotted the hikers in a riverbed about a mile from the trailhead at approximately 7:19 a.m. Mokulehua said.
The trio were flown out of the area, Mokulehua said. No injuries were reported.

…bet it was a cold one last night.
That’s no hike to start after noon. Bozos.
Should have let them walk out the last mile. No one hurt no need to chopper them out.
