Donald Carty, a former CEO of American Airlines and a two-time former member of Hawaiian Airlines’ board of directors, is rejoining the board of the state’s largest carrier.
Carty previously served on the Hawaiian board from July 2004 to February 2007 and again from April 2008 to May 2011. His return to the board for both Hawaiian Airlines and parent company Hawaiian Holdings Inc. was effective Friday.
“Don Carty possesses deep experience with and understanding of both the airline industry and publicly traded companies, and we are delighted to welcome him back to the boardroom,” Hawaiian Chairman Lawrence Hershfield said.
Carty most recently served as chairman of Virgin America Inc., a position he held from 2006 to 2016 until the acquisition of Virgin America by Alaska Airlines was finalized earlier this month. Carty has held numerous executive leadership roles during his career, serving as chairman and CEO for AMR Corp. and its subsidiary American Airlines, president and CEO of Canadian Pacific Air Lines, and vice chairman and chief financial officer of Dell.

Fox News will finish the year with an average of 2.4 million viewers in prime time. CNN was up 76 percent year over year in prime time, with an average of 1.3 million viewers, and MSNBC averaged 1.1 million viewers, up 87 percent.
