Health fair offers free screenings, prizes

    The University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine hosted a health fair at the school’s Kakaako campus in 2014. Another fair will take place Jan. 15.

Start the new year with good health in mind by attending the free “Lamalama Ke Ola Kino” (“To Glow with Health”) event put on by students at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine.

The community health fair will be held on the Kakaako campus from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 15, with entertainment, educational booths, speakers, and Zumba and hula sessions. The Blood Bank of Hawaii will be on hand for a blood collection drive, and the National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii will offer free kidney screening tests. There will be drawings, for a three-month membership to UFC Gym and other prizes.
